The Late Hon Sam Piantadosi ,  CBHS Class of 1963

The Late Hon Sam Piantadosi was the Deputy Mayor of Bassendean City.

After he finished National service he became an organiser with the Water

Supply Union, which had a very high Italian and other migrant background membership.

He took part in the amalgamation of small unions into what is now the LHMU Union.

Sam Piantadosi was also elected the President of the LHMU Union.

In 1983 he was elected as an ALP member of the Legislative Council for the North Province,

and was a member for thirteen years.

He was a Justice of the Peace and also received a decoration from the Italian Government in recognition

for his work amongst migrants of Italian background in Australia.

Sadly, Sam passed away in April 2010 from a heart attack.
