CBHS Highgate was a Catholic boys High School founded by the Christian Brothers in 1936 in Highgate (Perth) Western Australia.
It operated as CBHS Highgate from 1936 to 1978 when it was merged with St Marks Bedford (previously CBHS Bedford), and
the name was changed to CBC Highgate. CBC Highgate operated from 1979 until 1981 with Years 11 and 12 being conducted
at Highgate, and years 5 to 10 being conducted at Bedford, WA.
From 1982 the school name was changed to St Marks College Highgate.
In 1988 the school was closed down and sold by the Christian Brothers.
All students were transferred to Chisholm College in Bedford from 1989.
St Marks International College operated an English language school on the Highgate site from 1989 until January 2010.
In 2011 the site was sold , and a new Residential Apartment development is currently being built on the site.
The original CBHS buildings constructed in 1935 fronting Stirling Street and Harold Street have been retained.
New school buildings constructed in the late 1960's and thereafter have been demolished.
The photographs on this Website, are all we have left of the original buildings.
There is a Roll Call of 14,320 students at CBHS Highgate between 1936 and 1978.
There were 1768 "Lifers" (Grade 5 to 12), at CBHS Highgate between 1936 and 1978.
There were 10 Headmasters and 107 Brothers who served at CBHS Highgate between 1936 - 1981.
CBHS Highgate has produced notable Alumni including Bishops, Priests, Christian Brothers, Politicians, Judges, Lord Mayors,
Academics, Teachers, Architects, Engineers, Builders, Doctors, Public Servants, Sports identities, Community members etc.
